Riding Club -- just wanting to get or perhaps be directed to some general information on these, as it is all new to me.

Who joins, why, what do you do as a member, how far along do you have to be in you/your horse's discipline? In other words, what is Riding Club all about?

Any information at all much appreciated.

I love my riding club :)

We have competitions but also lots of lessons with good trainers which are discounted! We also have practice nights where you go and warm up by yourself, then go jump a sj round, or do a dressage test or whatever and you get advice from the more experienced members of the club. We also have camp which is ace!! I'm counting down the days until May!!

At my riding club we have every level from novices (people and horses) to those who compete to a high level. Everything is tailored to the individual and you'd never feel like you were out of place, even if you wanted to only walk/trot about!!

It is somewhere you can hopefully meet like-minded folks and make friends as well as having fun training/competing/learning.

Every club is different so best place to start is have a look at their website/facebook page and then email the secretary for any clubs that you are interested in. You can get a list of BRC riding club in your area online from here http://www.bhs.org.uk/enjoy-riding/british-riding-clubs/find-a-club-or-centre
