Right, not a serious question, just one I want to ask!

Ok, why the whole half sheepskin pad over the top of saddlecloth that seems to have taken the sj and now eventing world by storm-is there any point?

Personally I think sheepskin should be worn next to the skin as it distributes pressure evenly allowing air circulation and absorbs sweat. This helps prevent sores caused by pressure, moisture, heat and friction-so why put something underneath?

Your opinions please!

lol!

I have asked this many a time... I was told by my vet to use sheepskin on my delicate flower

of a TB, so I put it on either by itself or under a numnah, occasionally I run out of clean numnahs so have to go for a saddlecloth and then I do use it ontop cos my saddle is fitted to have the sheepkin underneath so not using it would make my saddle to wide....

Because if you put it underneath you'll have to wash it

I've owned mine 3 years and never had to wash it yet....

I'm with you on the washing front

Mine's been washed once....and at £70 a shot for my half numnah, saddlecloths are a lot cheaper to replace too

I put mine under the saddlecloth/numnah, as I use it because the binding on most numnahs seems to rub at the back of the saddle on my little arab (delicate flower as well!)
