Question re hacking around Chatsworth Estate..............

I've printed off a routecard from www.bridleways.co.uk for the route around Chatsworth, but do I need to telephone anybody with regard to this or can I just turn up and park. The routecard suggests that I park in the Carlton Lees car park, has anybody done this, is it easy to park, I'm taking a lorry.......... Thankies...

i havnt done the route myself but have seen others there, dont think you have to tell anyone as it is a bridle path you use , :the car park is quite large you wont have any problem
i have been there on a bank holiday when the car park was busy but there were still horseboxes parked there
have a great time

Ooh, let us know how you get on cos I would like to this route once I get my boy loading up OK, hopefully in the next month or 2... the feedback says something about a steep bit which makes it better to do the other way round than route card suggests though?

Will do, going to do it the routecard way first and then the otherway round when I take the other two horses up...............

P.S the steep bit that you refer to has now been amended on the route card to give an alternative on a quiet country lane...much better!

I thought you had to have permission to hack round there? Unless they've changed it in recent years?
