I have bought a 5yr old coloured cob and was wondering how to go about registering him with CHAPS.
Do i have to know his parentage, or should it have been done at birth?
Not a clue, but have bought him to sell on and thought it may help the sale if he was registered somewhere.

Has he got a passport already with someone else or not at all? If he has, just send it to CHAPS to be overstamped; if he hasn't, they will register him. You don't need to know his breeding but obviously it's better if you do (well looks better!) If he hasn't you'll need a vet sketch done, you'll also need three photo's, one of each side and a head, front view; they'll use one of these in the passport.
Sounds nice!

Thanks very much for that!!
He is a nice pony i bought to have some fun with whilst William recovers from yet another injury.
All the kids on the yard love him and i hardly get a look in!!
I feel i am depriving some kid of a cracking pony, Huge mane and tail and with feather to die for, so have decided to keep him a bit longer and then sell him.
Went to a show last week and did really well, (in hand as i'm too tall for him really) and decided to look into getting him registered with CHAPS, so your info has really helped!
Thanks again
Jo
