you just need the right ribbon (red?) in the tail

you only need a red ribbon if he is a kicker, a green one if he's a novice (or a little unpredictable) and i think its blue for a stallion, but i;m not sure about that....

Actually it is Yellow for a stallion out hunting,
Blue.white,red for BSJA.
