Was told today that if you win a British Novice you automatically qualify for 2nd rounds without needing 4 DC's, is this true?

Unless it is a new rule I hadn't heard of you can only qualify with 4 DC's

Bee is trawling the rule book now.
She has done 2 BN's and won both with DC's so hopefully will get another two before April.

I'd say very unlikely too. Haven't heard that and defeats the purpose of consistency which is why you need the 4 double clears!

I didn't think it was a rule, the person who told me was a 'mother' who spends all her time at BSJA, the daughter is home schooled and does loads of jumping. She will be disappointed then!

It used to be the way...long before British Novice even existed...that you needed to win or be placed to qualify for the second rounds in NC's and Foxhunter. I'm almost 100% certain that it's only 4 DC's that will do it now though
