Sorry to bore you all, but so many of you were so helpful last week, that I felt you were owed an update (aren't I generous.)
Well the good news is that after keeping him on box rest for a week & bandaging his legs with ice-tite; he was virtually sound!
The follow-up x-rays showed nothing new, but a nerve block in his left foot brought him sound (he has come sound in the right in the last week on his own.) which is largely reassuring.
Those who mentioned it; I asked about his shoeing, the vet was pleased with the way he was being shod & even commented on the improvement in his feet from last summer. I asked about putting pads in his feet but he said this was unlikely to help the problem as they offer minimal cushioning when you acknowledge the foot is a cushion in itself.
We eventually decided to remedicate the joint as this should aid the joint to heal & hopefully he should be sound by Monday!
Just want to say a big thankyou to all those who offered help. We have hopefully resolved the short-term proplem & as for the long-term problem - well I have a few months to worry about that yet (anybody want to loan a 15hh gem with 3 legs!
)
Thankyou again!
