Never seen one like this myself either - so I could be wrong (and don't mind being told if I am!) - but I would fit the cheekpieces to the rings which stick out most to the sides of the picture (the rings adjoining the triangles iyswim).

Well, there's a leather curb strap that fits on somewhere as well. Thought maybe those rings you refer to were where that attached? Honestly don't know.
It's like a puzzle! There are so many possible combinations. LOL.
Jeeze
Arrgh... why do I get these weird jobs to do???!!

Right, I am sure I will get shot down here, but this is how I was shown how to do it.

The rings that are sticking out sideways in the picture ---> cheekpieces
The rings on the noseband ---> on to a slip head
The curbstrap ---> on to the triangular piece below the rings.

Does that make any sense?

Yes! THANKS!!!! :)

But does that mean I'm going to have to rumidge around to find a double-bridle head peice to add to the bridle here?

Would you use double reins with this bit?

It looks as though you should have one set on the lower rings and one set on the other side of the 'large shape' that the mouthpiece is on.
