This has never crossed my mind before but today one of my horses darted too close to 2 jump wings just before I began my SJ round and knocked them over with my knee! This was just an unaffiliated comp so they just put them up again. BUT if this was BSJA, would I have been eliminated??? Would like to know for future!

Only reference I can find refers to timing equipment, but no mention of fences, so I imagine you would be ok!!

I did that once unaff & the snotty cow judge at the end said, 'That was NOT a clear round'. I was furious cos the horse had had 4 fault itis for about 2 years & I'd been totally thrilled that she finally managed to get round without screwing up.

Just looked in my BSJA rule book & couldn't see that particular instance mentioned.

Not sure about that. If the bell has rung you've got 45secs to commence your round, after that the clock starts running. I would be inclined to ring the bell again until the jump was re-errected & then ring for you to start again, (but then I'm known to be nice!!).
The circumstance you describe doesn't appear to be in the rule book, but as an earlier reply suggested the best course of action may well be to make sure it doesn't happen in the first place!!

Ive done this. It means the jump is unsafe to jump, they will ring the bell...put the jumps back up then ring the bell for you to commence your round/or to start!
