Hi, one of my lurchers was badly bitten Friday before last, he has an open wound on his side which needs to stay clean and covered with a dressing - this is being changed every two days at the vets. I got back from the vets about 2 hours ago and the blimmin dog has managed to rub the dressing off! I can get back to vets tomorrow but in the meantime I've secured the dressing with vet wrap - so it's wrapped round his belly and over his back. Will this be ok - just concerned about the elasticity of it (haven't done it too tight) & also whether it will irritate the skin on his belly as its hair free, he's a staffie so his skin is more 'greyhoundy'! The actual wound is on his side.

I think it will be fine: my lurcher injured her pad on one foot and then the nail bed on another foot! Both on the same walk! Dressings kept on by vet wrap on skinny little rather furless legs. Skin all ok afterwards, and didn't seem to hurt when taking off to re-dress injuries. Hope all ok with your dog. What is the other side of the cross? Staffie x ? Pics please?

Dont worry Nativepony, I have used vetwrap on my greyhounds before and they have been fine :) Obviously they are quite thin skinned, but you have done the essential thing by not making it too tight so I'm sure he will be OK :)
