My knee boots are getting a bit grimy inside. I do wipe them after each ride, but they need a proper wash.

If I wash them in a tub of soapy water and thoroughly rinse them will they remain soft and supple when dry or will they go a bit "crispy" like my lovely gauntlet gloves did when I washed them!

They're Westropp Knee Boots, not leather. Do people wash them, or should I just buy a new pair?

Don't want to ruin them, but grimy around the knee can't be good for Patches when we hack for up to three hours at a time.

That reminds me...I'll add it here....had a FABULOUS ride today! Went to places I've never been before and thoroughly enjoyed it. Met a friend at her yard and went together...nattering away, just how hacking should be!

Eeek...this is what I'm worried about. Going riding tomorrow again so I don't want to ruin them. Perhaps I'll leave it till tomorrow and have go after I've ridden.

Nightmare. Grimy sweaty horses! LOL
