Hi all,

Just a quick question for everyone. Still horse hunting and saw one yesterday which we liked but has one foot at the back which points outwards slightly. The horse also drags this foot but does bring it through properly from behind and doesn't seem bothered by it.
What could this be?
Thank you in advance

Hmmm. Could be just a minor conformation thing and the ned has got used to going like that because no-one has ever corrected it. But it could be a sign of back problems, nerve damage, etc etc, and could prove to be expensive heartache. Have you asked the owners? I guess you would be having ned vetted but if you know in advance the horse has a problem that could mean he fails it, it seems pointless. I'd defo have a word with the owner and if you still decide to press ahead, get it in writing what owner tells you x

FB does this and I suspect that it is to do with his back. I would add that when he is on joint supplement (Premierflex HA in his case) he does it much less.

I would ask to ride this horse downhill and on tarmac, both these things can be difficult for FB without his supplement.
