Those that follow my tales of jubilation and woe will remember that Rafi couldn't do novice petplan as he did the novice music at the champs. He had qualified for regionals but she only wanted to do prelim regional and novice petplan and by the time we realised all the regionals were over. So on to plan B he was to try and get an elem. qualification for pet plan at Weston Lawns.
We altered their petplan novice entry,at Vale view, to an elem and he got 63% and won. Then entered Solihull today and it was elem 48 for the qualifier[ oh dear ,rein back]
After panics about getting there as her times were too late for me to go with her and times were close so she couldn't remember both tests, it was all sorted , she found a friend at the last minute to drive with her and Henners offered to read for her [which was not needed as her friend wanted to do it, but it was very kind of Henners]
We only started teaching him rein back on Tuesday [well I did as she was at work] and again yesterday but started to worry that it was upsetting his halts so left it to luck. He has never done a simple change through walk but he is obedient and balanced in counter canter.
In his first test she felt he was curling up and not forward , he scored 63% which is good enough for pet plan.
Then he did 48 and his rein back was resistant and crooked and scored a 4 but the rest was pretty good and he got 68%.
He was doing them as training because we don't want the points but if he was competing he would have won the restricted [open got 73% so 2nd overall] and he would be half qualified for elem. regionals!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Clever Rafi he is such a little star, he had rubbed a big scab on his nose this morning and his nose is still twisted but he is a real tryer in life.
So petplan elem. here we come.
