just bought a new hunter show bridle - it has big thick black rubber reins - would it be better if i swapped them for thin plain reins?

thank you!!!

Personally I prefer the half lined rein as they look smart and are thinner to hold. (full rubber are too thick for my dinky hands) the half lined do wear a bit on the edges though so I have a pair that are only used on show days to keep them nice.
Also if they come with the leather martingale stops that are neither use nor ornament I cut them off.

I like laced reins on the top and a plain rein on the curb. Perfectly correct for showing and you get a bit of grip that way!
