Just a quick update on Spider after the vert was out yesterday..........So we put her on the lunge for the vet to see her trot and hopefully canter her.

For those that dont know she had an op for both hind suspensory ligaments and has been on box rest for 10weeks

She was being a bit lazy on the lunge so I put the whip behind her and she charged off bucking and badly over reached!! Trotted off hopping lame

Thought cr*p she has done serious damage!! Luckily vet was there and he ripped off the damaged bulb whilst it poured with blood! And said that it was fine just cold hose, but of course we couldnt lunge any more! Damn horses!!

He took my word for it though that she has been sound and even behind so he said she can go out Saturday! YEY!

Am so so so pleased as it will make her so happy, just about 4hrs a day for a few days then back to normal turnout so her gut can adjust.

I have to just keep up the trot work with her for the first week she is out, then the week after which is when I will get back on, she can do the 20mins trot and 2-3mins canter work, building the canter work up gradually. Then the vet will come back out after a mth of that and do some flexions and maybe scan her.

So am very very pleased, think it may bring a tear to my eye when I see her out tom as she absolutely loves to go out and eat as she is a pig!

So will be starving her a bit tonight so she just wants to eat, and giving her a few acp so hopefully she wont gallop about too much!!

Self indulgent post but wanted to share the good news! Finally making progress to getting my old Spidey back, hopefully without the pain!

I can't believe she managed to over reach, but at least the vet was on hand!
Good luck tomorrow, weather forcast is great for the weekend so I'm sure she'll love the freedom and sun on her back!

Sounds good, if she can step under well enough to over reach she must be feeling pretty good behind.

Hope the over reach heels nicely and doesn't interfear with her recovery.

That's excellent news!!!

Bummer about the over reach but it really doesn't sound like it'll be long before you guys are back on form! HOORAY!
