I visited a more rural based rehoming centre and they were delighted for me to rehome a dog- even if it was going to sleep outside when it was older! The place was full, mostly collies and mixed breeds, however they had no spaniels or spanielx and I was determined to keep to my criteria otherwise I would have gone home with them all!! They were taking a springer in from the pound the following day but it was a 2 yo female and after having issues with my previous springer bitch and my current GSD bitch not getting on, I don't want to have dominance issues and I think a younger male would fit in with my other dogs better. However they are going to keep me in mind if something suitable comes along.
Meanwhile I've been scouring the internet and have found a 2 month old male cocker looking for a home as his owner is emigrating, I've emailed him and will ring in the morning so fingers crossed!!!

Why would someone take on a pup when they were emigrating? It doesn't make sense to me. At two months old they must have only just had the put too.

Shocking eh? Good luck though.

I know, but job situation over here is still bad and peoples circumstances can change quickly. I will be asking him when I ring him though! I suppose at least he's looking to rehome it and not just dumping it.

Good luck with the cocker. Have to agree it seems a bit dodgy that they are rehoming at 2 months, wonder if it is a misprint? People don't just emigrate on a whim so surely they knew about it when they got puppy in the last week (hopefully).
