Hi
I first posted last week debating whether to get a youngster or not, and thought I'd post a little update (sorry for the lateness been v busy).
Went to see youngster last week, 18month filly to make 15.1hh... allegedly with a wonderful temperament, and that you could do anything with... Good job for viewings ey? The filly I went to see was neither of these, stroppy, very nervous, never had feet clipped, never seen a headcollar, wouldn't be touched, wasnt comfortable being approached, was totally wild and unhandled. I can excuse a little misbehaviour on the fillies part, but when I rang said seller to arrange going to see her this person assured me she was a quiet little thing who had been wormed, halter broken, and all the rest... nothing like the filly I saw, in fact the photos must have been airbrushed, the little sod was very skinny (supposedly a Cob x) and pigeontoed, I couldn't believe the difference.
Now, as this would be our very first youngster, we decided to leave it, and although I would love to try and bring her round myself, I just don't think we have the expertise to deal with a youngster like her and I wouldn't want to ruin her. Obviously I don't expect them to be perfect and expect to put a lot of work in, but she was too much for us.
I haven't stopped thinking about her since we have come away, and feel a little guilty.. like I've said before my heart usually rules brain and I just felt so so sorry for her and just wonder what will happen to her
