Quickly please give me reasons to wear to my new clothes hunting tomorrow!

Ok, I am the worst person about wearing new clothes to go hunting in, am absolutely convinced I will fall off to 'christen them' so to speak.
I have been given for Christmas a new cap cover (old one is unspeakably awful now) and new very warm gloves (instead of freezing cold pimple palms with holes in fingers) but I am terrified that wearing them will result in my meeting the ground at some stage tomorrow.
Please persuade me that I am being an idiot?!

Throw them on the floor and stamp on them or put them on and roll on the floor! Make sure the floor is clean though. I hate wearing new stuff for fear of falling off, think it started when I smashed a new hat I'd got for xmas one year.

So glad to hear I'm not the only one to stand on new stuff! Hadn't thought of putting them on and rolling about though, good plan! Just have to make sure I do it in private, not sure if I could explain to the rest of the yard what the hell I was doing rolling about on the floor in my hat and gloves!!!
