Hi I was just wondering if anyone is using the quit kick total stall system?

I have seen some positive feedback about the door kicking system, but as my mare kicks out behind or bucks backwards at the wall, I would need the total stall system. I have spoken with the staff who seem nice, but it would be good to hear from someone who has actually used one.

I already have rubber etc.

Thanks

I would not fit anything in a stable that punished a horse for kicking the door. That's what this does. Bearing in mind that door/wall kicking is about stress (anxiety/anticipation/impatience - all stress related) why would you do anything that makes the stable a more stressful place? Not to mention the wet bedding.
Door kicking - you need to look for the cause, then address that. Don't respond in any way. Thick floor mats, something with a texture maybe, on the door and wall. Bearing in mind that stress behaviour when stopped can displace into another activity.

Blimey, have just seen the price!!!!!
Op, as you're new and only a few posts I kind of suspect you might be advertising? But if you are, it might be backfiring. :)

I haven't used the total stall system but I have to stick up for the door Quit Kick - I've had a really good experience with it. My cob paws when she's impatient and when she was stabled overnight last winter, she'd kick and kick as soon as anyone came on the yard and it was driving everyone mad and I seriously thought she'd end up damaging herself she kicked so hard. I got a Quit Kick and she's never kicked the door since that day. She can still display the behaviour (which she does whenever she's impatient, be it in the stable or field) but now paws the rubber matting without kicking the door which surely has to be better for everyone including her!

Thanks for your response.

I am aware of the original cause and as mentioned, already have rubber etc.

I am not advertising or in any way connected to the company - this is a genuine post to understand other peoples' experiences with it as I understand some professionals use it and I cannot let the horse hurt herself.

I brought one and its the best thing I have ever purchased, stopped kicking in 2 days but did not hurt the horse at all.
Im holding on to mine until next season as it seems to get worse when im away competing then come home, he becomes a huge door kicking diva, if he doesn't kick I will hire mine out or sell it.
Worth every penny.

Thanks Bojingles - I have seen a lot of positive feedback about the door system and whilst I'm not going to be able to fix the original cause, I wish to prevent her hurting herselfinthe short term. Just cant find anyone who's actually had the total stall system and can speak of that

Splash30 thanks for that - what happens when the horse stays away when competing? Do you take it with you or are you ok without it? Just wondering really as its occurred to me that I will also struggle with that.

At shows he does as he pleases, I dont tolerate it if im around but as routine etc is out the window plus so many people around its hard to control so I only worry when at home (plus would be nicked at shows)

Did the total stall system work for you? - I too would need this one as apposed to the stable door kicking...any feedback gratefully received as they now cost £300 to buy!

I realise this is an old post but jeeses I wouldn’t want to see the injuries that system can cause. I had a tb who weaved terribly and somewhere down the line someone tried to stop it by waving at the door etc and he threw his head up and broke his nose. Not only that but what happens if a horse is then afraid of the door and flattens anyone who is in the way to get out/ refuses to go out/refuses to go in?

I’m pretty sure no one uses spray bottles on cats anymore

I'm looking to hear from people with first hand experience. So far I have not heard any feedback from anyone who has used this saying that it caused injuries. Do you have first hand experience of this system?
