we're hosting a yard quiz and i cannot for the life of me find the answer to a question i want to ask... So, thought you clever peeps on here could help!

Q: how many 3 star events are held internationally and what are they?

A: no idea! Any help much appreciated!

Bloody hell, that will be murder to find out I would have thought!

Do they mean CCI or CIC or both?!

Are you sure the question wasn't meant to be 4 star events, of which there are a defined, very small number?!

I do not even know how you would start finding out the answer to that - the UK and the USA have decent websites, but how do you do it in europe?

i have to be honest, i have no idea! I don't event you see so have no idea how it works!

I wanted the answer to be badminton, burghley, adelaide that sort of thing so i could give bonus point for each one a team gets. But maybe i am asking the wrong question... What would a better question be?

Thanks!

If you mean those events listed then they are 3 day 4 star events, not 3 star events.
From the FEI website these are
Lexington Kentucky is the first.
Badminton
Luhmühlen
Burghley
Pau is the final of the HSBC FEI Classics CCI 4 Star Horse Trials 2009
Adelaide is the final one

If you did mean 3 * events then you could change the search parameters to show 3* not 4*.

Well Badminton et al are 4 star events not 3 star! So that is an easy one to answer as there are so few of them. TBH I event and could not name all the UK 3* events let alone worldwide, but I could name all the 4* events, so change the question to 4* is my advice!!

right! I found it on wikipedia and it includes the olympics to make it really tricky! Thanks for your help and i will rephrase the question as suggested above.

I love doing quizzes but horse ones are hard to get right!

The olympics is 3* not 4* so if you are going with 4* events including the olympics is a bit unfair!!

You're not suggesting that wikipedia could possibly be wrong are you?

That's the problem with wikipedia (and all similar sites). The downside of letting all and sundry maintain them is that a lot of people don't know what they're talking about! Personally I'd go with what's on the FEI web site.
