Not much of a report really - went to the Quorn Hunter trial at Aylesford yesterday as a bit of a warm up before Eland Lodge next weekend. It was a lovely sunny day, the ground was good and the burgers were from our local farm shop! What could be better? The fact that it was chaos and I had to wait about 2 hours after putting my number down didn't spoil it for me:p

Had a great blast round, Jemima was genuinely confuddled when we pulled up half way round to open and close a gate  but I don't blame her to be honest as she has never had to do this before. She was very keen although the really steep hill 2/3 of the way round soon took the edge of her and we just cruised home from there having almost caught the horse in front. So very pleased with her.

Couple of pics - thanks very much to Colbeck Photography :D

Are you grinning or grimacing?;) The former, I presume, as you look to be having a blast. :D

That's v old school, doing gate opening, but then it was the Quorn I suppose. :p

Fab piccies, you both look to be having a super time, i love Aylesford, not that many competitions run there! Well done with the gate, bet that caught a good few out! Good luck for Eland and beyond

Thank you! It is a shame they don't run more over the course there, but I know it is for insurance reasons. They have only got permission to run a handful of events there each year - shame isn't it? Especially as they have the all weather arena and lots of space....thinking ODE potential!

Ah i wondered why they didn't run competitions there, but yes understand the insurance reasons! I xc schooled there a few times and love it! In fact would pay just for the hills to get some fitness in, its great....although o/h on foot wasn't so keen on the hills! It would make fab ODE venue!

It is a fab fitness run round there and the horses seem to love that big hill at the end. I can imagine the BE schedule warning competitors of that and advising a very fit horse. Most the crowd their yesterday were from the hunt on some already fit horses so I didn't really see anyone come back looking too tired. I was puffed though!

Lovely pics - well done. J looking her normal fabby self.

Thought you were wearing a coloured point2 there , but I think it may be your number is it?
