ha ha go dogs. My oh says charlie is not aloud on the bed and kicks him off so charlie waits till he's asleep then sneeks on my side and we have a cuddle all night.

I have given up with the greyhounds - apparently you can train them not to get on the furniture but I have no idea how, especially when I go out and leave them the run of the place

I wish ! I wanted the rottie to sleep downstairs and def not to go on furniture. She stares at us if we are sitting on the sofa as if to say that's my seat. As for night time sleeping arrangements many a time i have turned over in bed to either fall out the bed as she is hogging the middle ground or to wake up and find her head nearly on my pillow .
I blame the OH it's all his fault.................

My dog is family and he goes wherever he wants and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Yep - same as my house

Absolutely not allowed upstairs and on the bed but clearly those pillows looked way to comfy to resist:

Ok then but you're not allowed on the sofa:

The 2 GSDs don't go upstairs though, I did keep to that one.

Dog isn't allowed on the new suite after he scratched it on the first day we had it digging to adjust the cushions to be comfortable for him. He's now relegated to the hall when we're not around - used to be allowed in the living room and was "tolerated" on the sofa. He knew he wasn't allowed, hence as soon as you put a foot on the stairs, a slight thud and patter of paws...

lol ours are only allowed when its cuddle time, but soon found that as soon as we leave the house or go to bed they're straight on there!! caught them once and they just looked at us like "yeh, so? we've been on here every night for the past 5 years, what ya gonna do about it!"

Poppy used to be allowed on the furniture, but she's not now because we have leather sofas which scratch easily. Leah's never been allowed up because she's apparently too big (pshaw! She's half whippet, for goodness' sake!) - but we found that when we'd gone out, one sofa cushion would be suspiciously warm and covered in black hairs when we returned... so one day we parked at the top of the road and I walked down, tiptoed to the window and looked through just in time to see Leah's ears pop up like radars as she spotted me and slunk guiltily off the sofa. I've never seen a dog look more "rabbit in the headlights"-ish in my life!

Now we have to shut them out of the living room when we got out... it's a shame, I like having dogs on the sofas. They make such good hot water bottles!
