I've just found out that my friend has had her 18hh tb pts.

He had arthuritus in his neck and back which meant he could not be ridden. Also when he had a rug but on he would go bonkers because it caused him so much pain.

I met him last summer and he was such a beautifull horse its such a shame!

she had him PTS last week which was remarkable as none of us including her thought he would last the winter

Very very sad, I feel for your friend. I agree though, there comes a point when if the quality of life is really poor with no chance of aleviating the pain, it must be the kinder thing to do.

I had to put my horse down a year and a half ago.. arthritic conditions... only 7... it is so sad but the best decision. Give your friend a hug from me, I know it is not a very nice experience one I do not want to go through again with my other horse... best wishes..
