Indeed, only met him once at his mother's house where he was most hospitable.

However I knew his mother Jilly well. A most amusing lady and dare I say in the nicest possible way, somewhat eccentric, who refered to the country around her residence at Alderholt, as "bedstead country" on account of all the old bedsteads used as jumps in hedges.

Great people sadly missed.
