My horse Rusty collapsed & died whilst I was out riding on saturday morning.

Vet tells me a major blood vessel in his guts ruptured leading to a heart attack.
It was a massive shock as he was a fit healthly horse, who at 17years of age has been snatched away too soon. Those who know me will recall we did a 85mile ride over 4 days this February, together.

Please, everyone give your own horses a special cuddle.

Dont cry for the horses that life has set free.
A million white horses forever to be.
Dont cry for the horses now in gods hands, as they dance and prance to a heavenly band.
They were ours as a gift, but never to keep, as they close their eyes, forever to sleep.
Their spirits unbound forever to fly, a million white horses against the blue sky.

I remember your ride as you posted photos and despite the cold you both looked so happy.

RIP Rusty, what an absolute tragedy.

That must have been a terrible shock for you :( On the positive side at least from Rusty's point of view it was a lovely quick way to go and he went whilst doing what he loved.

RIP Rusty and big hugs to you for your shock and your loss x x

S, just wanted to say how truly sorry I am. I heard the awful news yesterday morning. I should have been at the same place myself, but last minute hiccups meant we couldn't make it. I can't even begin to imagine devastated how you must be feeling. Your Rusty was a gorgeous chap, and I'm pleased to have had the privilege of meeting him. At least he won't have suffered for long, and he died doing something he enjoyed.

If there's anything at all I can do to help, you know how to contact me.

Thinking of you.

S
