RAW starts this weekend! On Sunday I will be at Partners Pets, St Albans, with a stand for Rabbit Residence, and have 3 of the rescue's rabbits with me. If you're in the area come and say hi!

On the 11th two other volunteers will be at Just for Pets in Cambridge (no bunnies with them for that one though).

Lots of other likewise things going on next week :D

Hi.
I'm in St.Albans Sunday
Hopefully I'll call in and say "hello".

Well done for all your work in raising awareness for rabbit welfare.
Rabbits need plenty of space to run around.
They should be fed on hay (high fibre low energy diet) and NOT muesli style food or carrots!

This is the way to keep hens and rabbits :)

My vet wrote to me about RAW. I got a 15% off voucher, and a free check up with the nurse. I also got a bag full of freebies (feed, treats and hay). Whilst I was there Daisy also got her jabs and an appointment next week to be spayed. A very productive afternoon :D

I rang my vets who are on the list and they referred me to another branch who they said were organising it. I rang other branch who said to ring original brach as they were organising it. Eventually they rang me back to say its mid June, but couldn't tell me anything about it. Do you get a free health check, nails clipped , teeth checked etc or is it just a talk? Thanks in advance,

Daisy was thoroughly checked over and sexed (just to make sure). The nurse inspected her teeth, claws, eyes, ears, had a look at her fur and skin. We also had a chat about health and well being, and recommended that I change bedding from straw to paper.

Really re bedding? Hay is better! Bed them on something that's safe for them to eat! Mine are bedded on hay and fleecy blankets :) they have straw under their hay during the winter as its more insulating.

Really really. Daisy is a house rabbit though, so less need for insulation. She does eat the shavings occasionally, but they're safe for her to eat apparantly.

Hmm I wouldn't say shavings were that safe! Still a gut blockage risk.

If she's indoors, ditch the shavings, make sure she's got a nice big litter tray or two, lots of toys, lots of hay, consider bonding her with another bunny (less destructive then!) and use fleece blankets. Easily slung in the washing machine.
