Well, I bought a smallholding of 6 acres for my family and our 2 horses and found it had quite a healthy rabbit population digging holes to my dismay. So, I enquired about a firearms license and promptly got it. I went out a couple of nights a week with my night vision setup on a very quiet rifle when the horses were stabled. 2 years later and nothing.. not a rabbit in sight. None this year at all.

Job done.. However, I got some satisfaction from clearing those pesky wabbits and both myself and my dogs took a liking to them fried and casseroled and I have no more and thus to my main point, if anyone else has a rabbit problem localish to me (Around Burnley area, Lancashire) and want the numbers cutting back then please feel free to give me a shout. No charge except for being able to keep the rabbits I get.

Only bother with the ones that can cause harm and fill up to last 6 inch or so with limestone chippings then just pack the top with soil. Wash the chippings down with water of you need it to go further in. Should be fine then but keep an eye on them.
