Just a suggestion. You might find that people will take your request for free sport a little more seriously if you gave a proper and more detailed introduction of yourself.

I would start with some or all of the following in any order you feel like.
1. Age
2. Experience
3. Distance prepared to travel.
4. Details of insurance cover held.
5. Any land owners/gamekeepers willing to provide you with references.
6. Size of the problem you are prepare to take on or are capable of tackling.

Hi yes sorry if I did not put enough info in guys
I'm 29 and am a plumber by trade
Experience wise I haven't been doing it for long, but have been on several days out and have all equipment needed
I'm willing to travel up to 25 mile radius and willing to tackle most size problems and only available weekends Insurance I was not aware I needed but if I get a good offer off someone I would instantly get some if required
Hope this helps

No insurance isn't compulsory. But it helps to show that you're legit. You get it via your membership of the various country sports organisations NGO, CA,SACS BASC etc.

To help I'll give you a breakdown of the 3 guys I use. They work as a team. They have been doing rabbit clearance work for the last 18- 20 years. They now do the rabbit control work for us and 4 or 5 neighbours they also do a lot for what I call the horse crowd, trainers, livery yards, private stable owners, etc. They stick at the job until the problems sorted even if that means coming back 8 or 9 times. They came recommended by a fellow gamekeeper. They have approx a dozen ferrets, 100+ nets , 4 stop nets, 3 long nets and all carry Deben Mk II locators. If they dig they always back fill. They are all members of SACS which gives them £10m of insurance cover and they carry their membership cards as proof. If some top notch event/race horse breaks its leg due to your mistake it is going to be a big bill.

Best of luck with your search.

ok so as soon as i get a offer if they require it i will get insurance, im more than happy to stick somewhere and go back as many times needed to clear the problem aswell, im not doing this for financial gain or as a job im doing it as a bit of sport and at the same time helping out someone so it works both ways
i too have all the relevant equipment and 4 ferrets and will be happy to go and do it on my weekends off
thankyou

Why not join one of the field sports organisation now. That way you are already covered, shown some initiative and a willingness to at least try and do the right thing. IIRS full membership of SACS is only £35 and comes with £10m of insurance cover.

I have always found that a personal recommendation is worth its weight in gold especially with land owners, and doubly so with owners of valuable livestock and expensive equine businesses.

Stick an advert in as many of the parish magazines as you can.We get 3 around here and I bet at least 90% of the land/horse owners read them. Small acorns and all that.
