Rabbits?

Mixie (sp?) ones to be precise.
Will it harm a dog at all if they catch them?
Bloody JRT's keep finding them, take them off them straight away - no munching.

Myxomatosis is not infectious to dogs but wild rabbits do carry fleas, mites and other beasties that could pass on.

nope not at all. It is too specific to rabbits. My dog will dispatch a myxi rabbit but tends not to bother now. He likes them to put up a good chase first.Absolute worst that could occur though rare is a bit of a skin allergy.

My old lurcher used to catch, despatch and eat whole infected rabbits. He would usually heave up the chewed remains shortly afterwards so I don't think they're very kind to the stomach but he never had any ill effects apart from that.

Thanks everyone, my dad did say but I tend not to believe him.
Sadly i'm well used to the fleas!
