Hi can anyone tell me how I can find out info on an ex race horse, It last raced in 30/6/2010 and had been trained by J J Oneill, The horse is for sale and I went to try the it today it was in such a bad state I would not get on it. Any help in getting info on its back ground please.

try googling its name, that should bring up a few results. If not, try name+name of sire, or name+date of known race, or name+trainer. In the US there are sites that list every race and result, plus details of breeder and sometimes where they went after racing, so see if something similar exists where you are?

If you go onto Racing post website and put the horses name in the site there, it will tell you it's racing history, owner, jockey, type of race etc......might even have some videos of him racing (It think it costs 20p to watch a race).

this! racingpost.com has all the horses records even if the horse isnt in training anymore including all the trainers, previous trainers, owners and previous owners as well as all race details.

Racing post is good for facts and figures but won't tell you much more - ie previous injuries or problems. Once a horse leaves training it's also not usually updated. I would contact previous trainers/owners and ask them directly :)

I've PM'd her with the horse's last owner and trainer and details of the last sale I can find for it......it may not tell you about previous injuries, but having now seen the form of this one, which goes from quite successful to PU,PU,PU,PU after a fall, then I would certainly suspect an injury.....
