Racehorse "Drilling for Oil" stolen and butchered

This is horrible. I travelled with this horse from Kentucky to Florida, from there he went to Peru. He was such a sweet guy. I can't even imagine the kind of person that would do something like this.

That is utterly disgusting and so are the other similar incidents. Wish these people could be caught and then flayed alive! We all know it won't happen though. If they do get caught they will be dealt with humanely unlike their poor equine victims.

poor horse, i hope they did it quickly.
i'd be out there with a shotgun protecting my horses if i lived somewhere like that. unfortunately a horse is a lot of meat on the hoof, if someone is desperate.

the authorities need to start taking it seriously and threatening perpetrators with very serious repercussions.

what i don't get though is why steal something so valuable for meat when surely they could have stolen other horses that were easier targets? (not that that would morally be any better but don't understand the logic here

IMO nothing to do with meat tc. Insurance payout leaps out at me. Peru may be poor but it isnt as poor as that. Was the horse proven at stud?
