Ive been today to try and get one, went with the Racesafe in mind but it just seemed too short over my ribcage. I tried a Medium regular, so the assistant suggested the Champion one, same size, felt really comfy but potentially too long at the back with my deep seated dressage saddle.
My question is, those with Racesafe ones, how far below your bottom rib do they go. This one seemed to sit, midges past, it just felt short???

I just bought one, found they were generous on size for bust/waist size, but very long in the unisex version and very short in the ladies' shape regular.

They do a Ladies' long or extra long fit which is not as long at the back as the unisex version and in the Ladies' fit I was a long, which was only 49.5cm in the back length, so not that long, but my ribs were covered at the front.

In the past I have also had difficulty with body protectors being too long at the back and too short at the front. The Ladies's fit was just a godsend! The Gents fit for the same chest size would have been catching the saddle.

Not sure I explained that well, but it is the MOST comfortable BP I have ever owned!

I bought mine from Treehouse Sporting Colours, and they were very helpful.

Great thank you, do you mean the Champion one as I found that very long. It did feel ore comfortable than the Racesafe but sizes were limited so I could find one to fit :( I went to Naylors today and was a bit disappointed with the selection, they only had childs and I presume unisex? but I didnt find it long at the back, that was the Racesafe one, I thought the front was way too short. They said they would order me one in but I didnt want to order one that I didnt know if it would fit.

I've got a Racesafe, but as I'm short I got the children's version. The front wasn't long enough so I got them to put another row of squares in to cover my lower ribs. It cost a few pounds more but I effectively have a made-to-measure body protector. That's the beauty of the design - you can add and take away rows from the front.

No the thread was abut Racesafe body protectors, so when I said I bought one I meant a Racesafe. They do unisex or ladies. They also, as Cowpony says, add or take away rows for a great fit.

If you re unsure I would call Sporting Colours. They are no fuss, knowledgeable and even offered to post 2 out so I could try them both.

I have the Champion Ti22 with the short back, it is a very comfy BP and a reasonable price. My old one is a Racesafe, which also had the short back option as I am short in general. You can also get the Racesafe with a long back or extra long back, as well as in a tall fit. The difference in back length between regular and short for the champion depends on what size you are, here is a link with the sizes on: http://www.treehouseonline.co.uk/sizes/76
And sizes for Racesafe, you could get the tall option as that will give you more over the shoulder in XS/S/M sizes: http://www.treehouseonline.co.uk/sizes/65

Thanks for your replies, I will look at the links now. Sorry Red - 1 I didnt realise they did a ladies too. We are so limited for decent saddlery shops around here and all that was on offer in the better shop were childs or Im presuming unisex in both the Racesafe and Champion. The lady never mentioned all the different fits. I think a road trip somewhere with a larger selection is needed.

I called all the local saddlers to me, and none had a good range of sizes. When I called Treehouse they were great. Even if you don't buy it is worth discussing with them, they managed to demystify it for me.
