Afternoon all :)

I've decided to get myself a body protector, as I'm riding more now and also have plans to ride on holiday.
Went to the tack shop today, tried on every BP they had, and the only one that fit was an Airowear Outlyne Mens!! Have decided on a Racesafe, as they seem really safe, flexible and have a wide range of measurements/sizes.

Does anyone know of a qualified place that sell Racesafe's within day-trip distance from North London?

Thank you lovely HHO-ers, and have an Aero Choc Mousse on me :D

Why don't you try Treehouse Sporting Colours, I don't know if they have an actual shop where you can try the BPs on but if you phone & speak to Theresa she will ask you for a few different measurements & then send you one that fits perfectly. I am an odd shape & have bought 2 from her now by simply phoning up - each time they have been a great fit and the service is really good.

Firstly it sounds like you tried some on, but weren't actually fitted. If that's the case or you had an inexperienced fitter then I'm not suprised that you struggled to find one to fit. A good tack shop will have a BETA trained fitter and the manufacturers also train how to fit their individual protectors as well.
If you are set on a Racesafe, then Theresa is really good and will advise you what measurements she needs to get it to fit you properly, unfortunately if you aren't used to wearing one how you find it comfortable isn't always how it should fit. It should be a close fit and also not worn over bulky clothing so you don't cause any pressure points.

If you are looking for a day out to visit a saddlery a short trip round the M25 is Ingatestone (just up the A12) but be prepared for a large shop!! Otherwise Janette Moss horsewear is north London (but their selection is usually fairly restricted).

Thank you for the replies!

Sonjafoers - I rang Theresa, she was lovely, they have my measurements on file, so when I try one on, if there aren't any that fit off the peg, I will order from her :)

Iconique - I did get that impression a bit, they were ok, but didn't seem too knowledgeable.. I will look up Ingatestone and Janette Moss, as they don't seem too far away.

If you have the time, Ingatestone is definately the better of the two, its a huge shop and there is lots of choice, their people are trained well too. They are large enough to stock most of the brands including RP and Racesafe and even stock the point 2. (they have a great cafe too!!!)

But if you don't have the time Theresa is a good alternative - I've met her several times and she rides too, so she understands what a rider needs.

I have e-mailed Ingatestone to ask if they stock Racesafe's in their store. The shop does sound nice, even my non-horsey parents like the sound of it!
