Nothing swanky just a smaller local racecourse normal meet.
I'm going tomorrow for the first time. Was supposed to me whole family but turns out just me and my daughter (who is all for full dresses and facsinators! sp)

I know this would be huge over kill but so we need to be smart?
Jeans and nice shoes etc or smarter

Thank and apologies for my ignorance!

Small racecourses are fairly casual ,so whatever you like, your daughter will probably find their are others dressed up.However smart jeans will be worn by many people too
Have a great day.

The last time I went to a bog standard every day race meeting I wore - Skinny jeans, my dubarrys, a long sleeved White top and my grey/pink Dublin bodywarmer. I did my hair and put some slap on but that was it. There were some people in suits etc but no hats/dresses or high heels! Have fun!

Are you going in the Owners' section? I went to a small, rural NH racecourse in the middle of winter and found I was seriously under-dressed in the Owners. I wore smart trousers and a Toggi jacket, and looked the same as the stable staff leading the horses. I should have worn a suit or coat and hat.
(I was impressed with the Ladies - flower arrangements and nice soaps).

Thanks everyone....not entirely sure where i will be going! Its my first time but i work for 2 racing yards both of which are running horses and i personally know some of the owners (from work and outside work)
That said i'm not going with either work just its a bit crazy i work with them but have never ever been to the races so thought it about time to watch some of my "babies" doing what they do!
Also its just something a bit different to do with my little girl who regularly comes to one of the yards with me and its our favorite horse going!
