Ha! I am - just - old enough to remember Cart Horse races at some horse shows I went to, they were generally ridden bare-back too, as the owners wouldn't have had saddles to fit. Once they got going they could go quite well.

Great, it's surprising just how fast they can go! A few years ago, I wanted to set up a Shire racing tourist attraction, but I could find enough willing jockeys.

The jockeys loved it! I wouldn't say they were fast but they were certainly powerful. Fab spectacle and its going to be an annual fixture
