Just watched the first I think it was from Southwell. Snowing. I wanted to put sheets on the horses waiting at the start to keep them warm. Number 1 was so cute - I’d take him/ her home.
They will have been well wrapped up before hand and will be well rugged up after.
Yes indeed - I’ve stood in a show ring line up in the snow with no rug as no helper but just felt for them!
The problem being day to day they take so much longer to dry off and end up getting cold.I think the likes of Venetia Williams leaving their backs on needs applauding. And Willie Mullins I think. I know Alice is traumatised by the sight of them in the paddock but it’s got to be better for those big muscle groups.
I've asked a number of horse physios about a high blanket clip - all were very much in favour for just that reason, keeping the big muscles warm.I think the likes of Venetia Williams leaving their backs on needs applauding.
