racing weight limits.....

hi....

does anyone know what the restrictions are for flat race jockeys...and point to point/national hunt/steeplechase for that matter if anyone knows...... ie: weight, height (if there is one)

Can't give you exact figures - but Flat jockeys are usually around the 8 stone mark and jockeys over the jumps are usually around 9 stone 7 pounds.

Not sure about flat, I think it is 9st7lb, NH is 12st and P2P is 12st5lbs, they are maximum riding weights but there is all manner of penalties and allowances to take into consideration.

Lol I was just going to say about the 9st 7 for jump jockeys being totally wrong as most of the national hunt jockeys would be out of a job if that were the case. I think if someone was at the higher end of the weights though I would opt for point to points and hunter chasing because I doubt very much they would be able to obtain rides for most of the national hunt trainers.
