Racing Whip Rules

Hi guys

So I'm watching at the races and people were sending in emails saying the whip rule should be banned which I personally don't understand because it's for correction and stuff

Like riding school ponies you use whips on them sometimes because they don't listen to you or need encouragement but I don't understand how people are moaning about the whip rule with horse racing when their whips are made of like foamy stuff and then riding ones are made of like leather/string/plasticy-rubber stuff

What do you guys think?

I think the new rules are good, and I wasn't convinced to start with. Now though I much prefer watching a hard ridden finish, more skill and less whacking.

Yeah I think there good too, it's just the non-racing people that watch it then complain about it :S and then they are the people trying to get rid of the whip
