Well after all the talk about cranwell cross country the other day i was hoping to go and hire it and have a play at some point in the near future, i was just wondering what the jump's were like as my horsey is quite young still and i havn't taken him cross country yet, so i don't want to arrive and be faced with having to jump a small house!! thanks

Bad news I'm afraid, I was hoping to go XC schooling last weekend but I have been told by friend today that they are no longer hiring it out for schooling.
Have you tried Hallington UK Chasers at Louth or there's another one at Spalding that supposed to be good. The Hallington one has lots of small fences as well as some bigger options. It is ideal for young horses or slightly windy riders!
By the way, you are just up the road from me

Cranwell are still doing their ODE in March though. It is a bit trappy inplaces, but has lots of small big fences if that makes sense?! So Skinnies which are a nie height to teach babies about skinnies, and drops which look horrid to us, but seem to be quite appealing to the horse. Goddy went clear round it and won the ODE last year, so its not that scary!!

Cranwell is absolutely lovely. I have ridden there many a time doing the RAF Championships and did the intermediate and open on a strange horse first Cross country I ever did! It's very safe and sensible. It was ages ago I last rode but will get some piccies up of the intermediate.
