hey as part of my course at college, i have to organise a lecture demo! We got our rider, date, posters etc, but our now looking for some companies to sponsor our event with raffle prizes!! does any one have any ideas as to who i should contact, e.g which companies and if you was to come to the event what sort of raffle prizes would you like to win??

Thank you

Most companies get hundreds of requests for sponsorship. Make sure you are offering something in return otherwise you are asking for a donation, not sponsorship. You will have better luck if you offer good advertising and marketing in return for prizes. If the companies get some business from it they will be happy to do it again but you need to make it clear when you approach them what you are offering otherwise you will get fed up with bing told no!

Our 3 main sponsers are on all our advertising. For smaller sponsers advertising at the event in form of a sponsers board, their own leaflets and booklets etc at the event, name read out with raffle, do you think this is ok???

Yes, thats good. Make sure you make the effort to give out the leaflets, maybe put them on seats? Definately read the names out, several times if possible. Also write a quick thank you letter after the event, it does mean alot.
Look through the local paper for companies with big adverts and target them. If they can spend that much on advertising they might give you £10 for a prize. They dont have to be horsey companies, as long as you are offering decent marketing in return some might want to reach a new audience.
Hope you have a good demo!

thanks for that!

Just had a email, and KP Equestrian clothing (katie price!) has agreed to give us a raffle prize, as have poly pads!! horray!

Well done you!
Try a few non-horsey companies, too. They are often quite willing to sponsor and you may have non-horsey guests who would not be so keen on winning a headcollar

Local bubs and restaurants, bottle shops, florists, delicatessen shops, ... All good places to ask

Best of Luck
