Ragwort in haylage

Sorry to be ambiguous, I know what it looks like as a plant, but have found a crinkly weed in some haylage which smells rather aniseedy and wondered at what point I should panic. It has no flower and isn't very big. My supplier will be getting a call first thing, but I wondered if anyone knew what semi-wilted then baled stuff looks and smells like. Knotty fron Liverpool uni has some not very clear pics on his website of it in hay and haylage - my plant isn't so green as either and has more leaf.

I have found a piece in hay before and it was still recognisable as ragwort with the long woody stem and yellow flowers. I don't knoiw what ragwort smells like so can't help there, but are there any flowers left on it? Your supplier cannot do much about it now, all you can do is be very vigilant with the rest. If in doubt get rid of whatever plant you found.

Well, I e-mailed Derek Knottenbelt and got a very speedy reply and the offer of them inspecting it and letting me know the findings! The e-mail was from the man himself, no less!!!!

I have parcelled it up and it will be on its way shortly.

Having found a plant (at midnight last night on the roadside -

yeah, I know) and dried it out on the AGA overnight, I think it's maybe not ragwort. It would only be a baby one if it was, but doesn't look the same or smell the same, either. Still sending my mystery weed for a check up though.

Glad I sent a donation to his fund.........
