Went to Kings Lynn today and on way up A10 past two horses in field looking good in their smart rugs but surrounded by ragwort!

Why cant people just go and pull it now! its rained so should come up easily. Baffles me! If i hadnt been driving would have taken a pic to show them. Lots of bags of poos piled up and then ragwort growing away.

There is a field just outside Gloucester towards Hartpury that looks like they are growing it as a crop!!!......there are mares and foals in it.

I actually think that people don't realise quite how dangerous it is. If you ring WHW they can send you some leaflets to put on gates. I think that the BHS need to do something more than survey. we don't need a survey we know there is an enormous problem. I think they need to progress to a program of EDUCATION such as a media campaign.

I was going to put a similar post re some horses in a field in Marshland St James. Are the Kings Lynn one on the left just as you go away from Kings Lynn? Haven't been that way recently.

Is the BHS survey for reporting this type of thing?

Yes I was actually going towards kings lynn(from Cambridge) and they were on the right.

I was trying to look for the name of the village it was not far from the little post office on the main road...

Also a field on A10 coming back had a paddock full of it ...Looked like a crop thick as anything.

I know ragwort posts can become a bit of a bore to read about but yes I did fill in BHS survey wonder what they will do as it is everywhere. They obviously poo pick as the bags were stacked up in the back yard. But the ragwort why cant they pull that at the same time?

Yes the BHS thing is a survey so they can collate info to add weight to their campaign but I don't know how that will help matters.
I recently copied a page from the WHW website and typed a note to fix to a gate on a field near me. There are two lovely young horses in there grazing belly deep in yellow, it sickens me to see it, especially if there are foals too.
Go and put a note on the gates of any fields you see and let's shame all those that are too lazy to do anything about it!
Anyone who isn't pulling/digging it up now and have a bad infestation will have a job getting it all out before it starts to seed now.

I just can't belive that in 2011 local councils and highway maintainance are still allowed to strim it grrrrrrrrrrr. This was my biggest fight they used to strim it, seeds straight into my field!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Touch wood, my new field has none, just nettles and buttercups (rollseyes)
