I have signed this on another forum but thought it needed as many signatures as possible

The government are being petitioned to tighten the laws regarding the control of poisonous weeds, namely ragwort, in the UK.

Details from the petition:

Ragwort is a menace endangering the lives of hundreds of horses each year and recent research confirms it is also a danger to humans. There are currently no laws in place to enforce the control of this, and other, poisonous weeds. We would ask the Prime Minister to look into this matter, making it possible for landowners to be fined for allowing ragwort to continue spreading and to be found liable if an animal dies as a result of ingesting ragwort on their land.
