Too much to hope that it has some fatal disease and will go away on its own?!?!

Now that would be a dream!! But no such luck! I keep walking past Trifids of it at the moment. Although as its done yearly it is only a handful of plants.

Quite a few of the ragwort plants I am pulling at the moment are covered in black aphids which are farmed by colonies of ants that live at the base of the plants. A very small number of plants seem to be dying but most are thriving unfortunately. I am still picking bags of the stuff. A huge plant collapsed and died last week, it turned out my OH had weed on it!
