It was raining most of last night and all day today so far. OH did my horse this morning and didn't mention that the rain was coming right in through the yorkshire boarding into my stable. I've come down now to find my poor horse standing in there in a stable rug soaked through to the skin! I feel so sorry for him but I've taken most of my rugs to get mended and cleaned before the winter sets in properly, so all I've got to change him into is either another stable rug or a lightweight no-fill turnout which doesn't keep him very warm. It's not too cold today though but he's still not going out - he took a quick look outside the barn door and made a hasty retreat back to his haylage! :p Don't blame him to be honest, the weather is foul.
Stable floor is soaked though. I've got as much as I can out but it's still not very nice in there.
Sorry rambley post, just hate the rain, especially from that direction. It normally comes from the other way so doesn't bother me too much.

could be worse, could be snowing liek it was this time last year. Put the dry stable rug spares on and the light weight turnout on top to keep him dry.

Been there, we have that much water this year that my stables flooded and the wind was lifting up the roof letting the water drain down the wall

Got someone in doing repairs right now, my poor boy Haffy was in the corner stable which flooded the most, was more like a swimming pool. He wasnt amused  lol. Thankfully i had a spare dry one to pop him into for a couple of days.

Ossy - that's what I've done, it's the first time this winter I've had to use multiple rugs! My own fault really, I should have kept a heavier TO back instead of having them all go for cleaning/repair together, I just didn't think I'd need one  Yes I'm very glad there's no snow here yet (touch wood) but the flooding on the roads isn't great either :( I thought I'd killed my car on my way home!!

Archina - that sounds like a nightmare!! Hope it all gets sorted for you and doesn't happen again.
