Hi: we’ve recently taken in a ex brood mare TB: shes got a little bit of rain scald patches from about 4 months ago. Coat is in fairly good condition but she’s got a couple of patches where she’s got bir coat. It was obviously sore at some point and healed over. It’s on her withers so not sure if a rug has rubbed as well. Is there anything I can use to encourage hair regrowth?

Coconut oil used to be popular to rub in and encourage hair growth, also Cornucrescine (! Actually to promote hoof horn growth).
Coconut oil can need warming up, goes solid in cold weather. If the bare patches are where tack / rugs cause pressure, may take a while to get going again, even grow back white. We had one with bald bits, took 6 / 8 months, but then wouldn’t even know there’d been an issue.
Try a ‘patch test’ with whatever you use, just in case.
