never had it before, i have scrubbed it with hibiscrub, but now do i turn out as normal, no rugs, or put a rug on?

This year has been terrible for me, i've had things i have never had in 39yrs!!!!

when we had a horse arrive with it we washed her with dil hibi scrub and only turned her out when the weather was dry until it had cleared up. We didnt rug as you want the air to get to it (and you can get rain scald caused by rugs - leaking or making the horse sweat).
Hope it clears up

I always find (unless it's really bad), that it goes away with just one or two washes with hibiscrub and then put a rug on whenever it rains after to stop it coming back again.

I never put anything on mine when she had it just cleaned the area well, kept removing the scabs when they were ready and kept it dry. keep lightweight rug on in this weather, but do be careful that neddy isnt sweating under the rug as you want to keep the area nice and dry.
My mare came back from being out on loan as a brood mare years ago with terrible rain scald it looked terrible but with a bit of TLC and careful management it cleared up quickly with no scarring or anything.

feed her aloe vera juce wash with hibi scrub pat dry then apply tea tree oil coz the skin will absorb that if you put creams on etc you are leaveing ares of cream for the bacterica to stick to! yes rug on but make sure he is not sweating under neath it other wise that will make it worse or even can of caused it in the first place if he has been wearing one!
