Bought some hay off the field on Friday. Got it home and the horses love it so was going to get some more but it rained heavily yesterday. It's small bales, in stacks will it worth buying or avoid?

If I am reading this right its where you are getting them from has them stacked in the field and they have been rained on.
In which case make sure any slightly damp ones are stacked separately when loading so you know which ones they are. .On restacking at home stack any damp ones on top of you can't stack separately and use first .You don't want any damp ones at the centre of a stack

They should be Ok if well stacked in the field. We have sometimes had to put the driest ones in the barn and if you have a few good dry and preferably breezy days we leave the dampest ones out to dry off some more. Be very, very careful stacking damp hay inside, if you must be sure they are on the top of the stack and not covered in any way. You really don't want a fire.
