Hi from Canada! I thought it would be good to come over to your forums and ask you guys about rainsheets since I know some parts of the UK experience ALOT more rainfall then we do over in Ontario lol

I'm putting my mare on 24/7 board come May and want to ensure she has a really good waterproof rainsheet. The rainsheet I bought 2 years ago is already soaking through when we have a very heavy rainfall, or one that lasts all day.

Some of the brands sold in the UK I'm not familiar with but also not against ordering so what do you guys suggest/recommend and what should I stay away from?

Thanks in advance :)

Well hello to you!

The Rambo rugs by Horseware Ireland are as good as you can get. Not the cheapest but very comfy and tough. They come in heavy, medium, light or unlined.

I would recommend a lightweight/medium with the lowest fill such as 100g as I find that no fill don't hold up against real heavy constant rain, at least not for long after they're new anyway!

I am sure someone may be able to recommend a super super brand though, premier equine probably is a good bet!

Do you just want a no-fill waterproof rug?

It depends on your horse's shape but I really rate my Amigo 1200d rugs - they have withstood our torrential non-stop rain all year!

Any rug with 1200d outer should be up to the job, I'd avoid 600d as they just arent strong enough.

Horseware all the way! there rugs are Amigo, Rhino and Rambo maybe another? but I can't think right now! best rugs you can get ;)
