RAKTI, the world's joint-champion miler in 2004 and at his peak the horse Michael Jarvis rated the best he has trained, has died at stud in Australia after suffering an injury in his stable. The 11-year-old stallion, who had moved permanently to Victoria after spending the Northern Hemisphere season at the Irish National Stud,died after he was found with a shattered pelvis which pierced an artery.

RIP Rakti :( Guess it just goes to show how fragile they are :( :(
 
He was incredible - such a strapping big beautiful horse. How sad. It's hard to believe a horse can shatter the pelvis in the stable.
